Most of us are aware of the higher prices for just about everything – how can you not notice? Unfortunately, heating and air conditioning equipment has been dis-proportionally affected for a variety of reasons.

• The high price oof commodities – copper steel, aluminum are all components of furnaces, air conditioning units, evaporator coils, ducting and refrigerant lines.
• Regulatory changes – Federal and state regulations have raised the minimum efficiency standards, dictated ultra-low NOx gas furnaces, and another major refrigerant change for the state of California coming up.
• Micro-chip shortages – To reach the requirements for very highly efficiency, “green” air conditioning and heating equipment manufacturers have made use of micro-chips in just about all of their higher efficiency units. The shortage of these components increases the cost and delays equipment manufacturing.
• Shipping costs have increased up to 300%
• Petroleum prices
